Former Bull Jimmy Butler is having a meeting with Minnesota's front office this week to determine his future with the organization. Edward and Salim talked about what's led up to this meeting and what Butler hopes to get out of it. This shifted into a discussion about Anthony Davis, who's considering hiring Rich Paul as his agent. The guys talked about what this hire could mean for Davis' future and whether the Bulls could get involved if Davis wants out of New Orleans. This led to a conversation about the Bulls present and future assets and if the Bulls would consider trading Lauri Markkanen or Wendell Carter Jr. to acquire Davis. The guys also revealed their top three bold predictions for the upcoming NBA season in this week's 3Peat. 

Offseason Talk (with Doug Thonus)

Doug Thonus joins Edward Shuler and Salim Suterwalla to discuss his path to writing, his time covering the Bulls, his most memorable experiences and encounters around the team and much more. The three then talked about the Bulls offseason, Zach LaVine, Jabari Parker and gave their win predictions for the season. This led to a brief conversation about David Nwaba's surprising contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers and whether the Bulls could've fit him on this year's roster. The episode closed out with a discussion of former Bull Luol Deng and the rumors linking him to a reunion in Minnesota with Tom Thibodeau. The guys gave an analysis of Thibodeau's tenure in Minnesota so far and the chances that he might entertain the idea of trading Jimmy Butler. It's a jam-packed episode of past and current Bulls conversation, with just a few weeks remaining until the start of preseason.

Promotions For Everyone

The Chicago Bulls announced promotions to several front office members, and Edward and Salim discussed those new roles and what it means for the organization going forward. They also talked about Gar Forman's decreasing public appearances and whether or not he still adds value to the Bulls front office. The guys played Buy or Sell, which included a discussion about the future financial worth of Lauri Markkanen. In this week's 3Peat, the guys ranked the top three Bulls moves they were most wrong about.

Best in Class

Following the release of the NBA Rookie Survey, more discussion about Wendell Carter Jr. kicks off this week's episode. Edward and Salim discuss if NBA rookies are justified in believing that Carter can have the best career of any player in his class. They also played Over/Under on some Bulls topics and introduced a new segment called "3Peat" where they each ranked their Top-3 favorite post-Michael Jordan Bulls performances. That led to a conversation about Jimmy Butler and whether he'd be making the right move by potentially joining LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers next summer.

Rookie Fever

Edward Shuler and Salim Suterwalla broke down the NBA's top rookies and weigh Wendell Carter Jr's chances of making the All-Rookie First Team. In an off-topic discussion, the two talked about Michael Porter Jr.'s accidental like of a comment against Luka Doncic. This transitioned into a flashback to the NBA Draft and how we might have felt if Porter did wind up in Chicago. They also gave their thoughts on 'Chandler Hutchison and what we can expect from his rookie season. The episoded wrapped up with a discussion on the Bulls training camp invitees and two-way players, and who has the best chance of sticking with the team long-term.

27 to 28 (with Edmond Hartnett)

Edmond Hartnett of Contested Layups joins Salim Suterwalla and Edward Shuler for this week's episode of Bulls Gold. The three discussed the Over/Under lines for the Bulls and decide whether or not the projections are fair. They also looked at the Bulls NBA schedule and explain just how meaningful the team's season opener against Philadelphia could be. Each of the guys also give their most anticipated game for the season and Edward asks the guys whether this season's home game against Minnesota has lost its luster. The guys wrapped things up with a discussion about former Bull Joakim Noah and his future if the New York Knicks waive him.

Fitting The Pieces (with Mark Karantzoulis)

Mark Karantzoulis of BullsHQ and Bulls Gold contributor Salim Suterwalla join Edward Shuler for Episode 6 to discuss the progress of the Bulls rebuild. The three discuss the Bulls top players, examine how they fit next season and if fans should be optimistic about the team's current position. They discuss the Bulls veterans Robin Lopez and Justin Holiday, and their roles for the upcoming season. There's also reaction to the Cleveland Cavaliers signing David Nwaba and if Chicago was justified in not re-signing him.

Episode 5 of Bulls Gold starts with Bobby Portis and his value to the Bulls moving forward. Portis had a breakout season in 2018 and we'll look at what exactly he did to improve his game. Portis is now in a situation to challenge the team's goal of asset accumulation. Just how far can the team go to retain Portis? We also take a look at Zach LaVine's recent interview with NBC Sports Chicago and why it's an encouraging read.

From Chicago...

The newest Chicago Bull, Jabari Parker dominates the discussion of Episode 3 of Bulls Gold. I discuss just how the Bulls can succeed offensively and defensively with Parker in the lineup. Also, what effect does Parker have on the rest of the Bulls young talent? This season is already feeling different from the last season and that's because of expectation. I'll explain why the Bulls have to pursue a playoff spot with this suddenly captivating group of young talent. Episode 3 also discusses the future of David Nwaba after his qualifying offer was rescinded by the team.
